Industry Visit to Infinitum Technologies Inc.

On April 28, 2025, at 10:00 AM, I participated in an industry visit to Infinitum Technologies, Inc. located in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone as part of our exposure program to real IT work environments. This relatively new company, established in July 2023 but fully operational only in 2024, operates from a studio-type office that demonstrates how effective IT services can be delivered without extensive physical space. Ms. Clarisse Gonjoran hosted our visit and provided a comprehensive presentation of the company’s operations.

Infinitum Technologies focuses on “providing high-quality IT solutions and services to customers in the most efficient and cost-effective way.” Their service portfolio is impressively diverse, encompassing security systems (CCTV installation, smart door locks, fire detection systems, biometric access, and electric fences), web and mobile app development, server installation, data analytics, structured cabling, computer repair, and graphic design.

The visit to Infinitum Technologies was truly enlightening, highlighting how a young company can successfully manage multiple technical services while maintaining quality standards. This experience reinforced the importance of adaptability in the IT field—while specialization has its merits, versatility across different domains significantly expands career opportunities.

I found Ms. Clarisse’s insights about client equipment preferences particularly interesting, noting that many clients specifically avoid Chinese CCTV brands in favor of options like CISCO despite the significant price difference. This observation underscores the critical importance of trust and brand reputation in security services, with clients willing to pay premium prices for perceived reliability.

The company’s work with educational institutions revealed interesting business patterns, with schools typically seeking IT system upgrades or repairs at the beginning of academic years. The First School of SBFZ was specifically mentioned among their clients. Understanding these seasonal client acquisition cycles seems essential for effective business planning in the IT sector.

I was pleasantly surprised when the Infinitum team remembered our group from our previous inquiry about OJT opportunities, despite our decision to pursue placements elsewhere. This personal touch demonstrated how networking and maintaining positive professional relationships can be as valuable as technical expertise in the industry.

This visit has inspired me to broaden my technical horizons by exploring courses or certifications in previously unconsidered areas like security systems or structured cabling. Moving forward, I plan to challenge myself with projects outside my comfort zone of software development, potentially exploring network security or IoT to develop a more comprehensive skill set.

The company’s emphasis on security services prompted me to consider pursuing cybersecurity certifications like CompTIA Security+ to complement my academic education, potentially creating valuable career opportunities given client priorities in this area. Beyond technical knowledge, observing Infinitum’s client relationship management highlighted the equal importance of communication skills, motivating me to enhance my presentation and interpersonal abilities through campus organizations and class presentations.

The visit was exceptionally well-organized, with Ms. Clarisse delivering an engaging presentation that explained complex technical services clearly without oversimplification. Despite the modest office size, our group felt comfortable in the learning environment created. I particularly appreciated Ms. Clarisse’s candid discussion of both successes and challenges since the company’s inception, providing realistic insights into IT business development. The Q&A session featured thoughtful responses that offered genuine insights rather than mere promotional content, and the visit timing was perfect—comprehensive without feeling rushed or drawn out. Even transportation logistics to and from the Subic Bay Freeport Zone were handled efficiently.

For future visits, incorporating hands-on components such as a workshop for configuring basic security systems or troubleshooting common issues would enhance learning retention through practical application. Providing digital copies of the presentation or company profile documents would also be beneficial for reference when completing assignments or conducting career research. The networking aspect could be improved by scheduling dedicated time with different team members to gain deeper insights into various career paths within a multi-service IT company. Finally, including before-and-after videos of completed projects would effectively illustrate how their services translate into actual client solutions, as visual examples typically reinforce conceptual understanding.
