Day 2 at Stafify: Research, System Conceptualization, and Exploring AppSheet

As I settle into my role at Stafify, today was all about deep-diving into research, brainstorming system features, and exploring new tools. Here’s a rundown of my second day:

Navigating the Central Management Dashboard (CMD)

Continuing from yesterday, I spent time exploring the Central Management Dashboard (CMD) using the additional links provided for Day 2. This exploration helped me better understand the platform’s structure and how different sections connect to streamline administrative processes.

Key Areas Explored in CMD:

  • Accounting and Finance/Disbursements/Job Orders – I familiarized myself with how financial transactions, reimbursements, and job orders are processed within the system. This provided insight into how payroll and budgeting integrate with the company’s overall workflow.
  • Operations/Schedules – I reviewed how shifts, schedules, and task assignments are managed, which is essential for integrating attendance tracking into the system.

By navigating these sections, I gained a clearer understanding of how CMD organizes financial, HR, and operational data, which will help in designing a seamless attendance management system.

Researching Attendance Management Systems

One of today’s key tasks was conducting a comparative study of existing attendance management systems. I analyzed different platforms, looking at their features, functionalities, and limitations. The goal was to gain insights into what works well and identify areas where improvements can be made in our system.

Conceptualizing System Features

  • Based on my research, I started brainstorming the core features that should be included in the attendance management system. Some key aspects considered were:
  • User-friendly interface for both employees and administrators
  • Automated tracking and reporting to reduce manual work
  • Integration capabilities with existing HR tools
  • Mobile accessibility for remote and on-the-go attendance logging

This initial feature set will serve as the foundation for our system’s design.

Exploring AppSheet

Since AppSheet is a potential tool for development, I did some research to understand its capabilities, limitations, and best use cases. I explored how it could be leveraged to build a functional and scalable system, and I plan to do some hands-on testing soon.

Planning for Tomorrow

To stay on track, I outlined a to-do list for Day 3, which includes:

  • Refining the system flowchart to improve clarity and efficiency
  • Finalizing the tech stack for development
  • Conducting research on People HR and Sprout to align the system with industry standards
  • Defining team roles, including assigning key responsibilities (e.g., Project Manager, Lead Backend Developer)
